The Matching Plush Toy
Alongside the mascot costume, we developed a 25 cm plush version of Aodhán,
designed to visually match the mascot in expression, proportions and character details.
The plush features embroidered eyes, soft wings and carefully selected materials,
ensuring a consistent and recognisable look across both products.
Both the plush toy and the mascot costume were tested in accordance with
EN 71 and the EU GPSR requirements, ensuring full safety for
family-friendly and public-facing marketing environments.
Meet Aodhán
A Dragon with Character
Meet Aodhán, the green dragon who can’t breathe fire — a friendly, slightly clumsy, but brave character created by Certa Ireland to connect with families and local communities across the country.
Our team translated Aodhán’s digital character into a fully wearable mascot costume, using detailed 3D modelling and technical pattern development.
To achieve the right balance between realism, comfort and long-term usability, the costume was engineered with the following key features:
- Separated head and body construction for balanced weight distribution
- Clear visibility through the eyes while preserving accurate character proportions
- Lightweight, breathable materials (velboa outer layer with mesh interior)
- Adjustable internal straps with optional cooling solutions for extended wear
- Rounded horns and soft finishes, fully compliant with EU safety regulations
Every stitch, colour tone and facial detail was precisely matched to Certa’s approved artwork, ensuring full visual continuity with the plush toy line and overall brand identity.

Aodhán quickly became a familiar presence across Ireland, appearing at family festivals, community events and charity activations, consistently reinforcing Certa’s positive, people-focused message.
